Caravan of Hope – World Premiere (Mound Bayou, MS)
Join us for the world premiere of Caravan of Hope, a feature-length documentary telling the story of the 1982 Easter Sunday caravan from Memphis to Mound Bayou, Mississippi.
On April 5, 2026, forty-four years to the day that families loaded up their vehicles and drove 104 miles to support one of the most historic Black towns in America, we will gather in Mound Bayou to commemorate that moment and reflect on its lasting impact. The premiere will take place at the North Bolivar Consolidated School District Auditorium (204 N Edwards Avenue, Mound Bayou, MS), the same location where the historic check was presented in 1982.
The red carpet begins at 2:00 PM, followed by the screening at 3:00 PM. After the film, stay for a live panel discussion featuring individuals who were part of that historic moment.
We invite you to load up your vehicles, retrace the route from Memphis to Mound Bayou, and be part of honoring a powerful story of solidarity, self-determination, and community action.
Space is limited. Please RSVP to reserve your seat.
